Computer aided engineering encompasses computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing involving Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), strengthens the horizons of mechanical engineering.
Many innovations crucial to our future will have their essence in the world of mass, motion and energy which means the world of mechanical engineers
Academic areas covered by our department are:
-
Design: Learn how to apply tools from inside and outside of engineering to ensure that products meet their user needs. Design medical devices for the developing world, environmentally-friendly
manufacturing tools and processes, and consumer products that interact with the physical world.
-
Materials and solid mechanics: Study how materials deformed under pressure- whether it be forces of stress or strain, temperature changes, or other phenomenon. Create biocompatible dental prosthesis,
build better air plane wings or combine materials to make buildings stronger and more durable.
- Energy: Improve the way that energy is produced, converted and used in our modern world while taking into account the global economics, geopolitics and environmental factors.
-
Thermal and fluid engineering: Follow fluid flow and heat transfer and apply mathematical methods and physics to better understand how energy is carried. Developed energy conversion systems,
design biomedical devices to separate specific biological cells and otherwise harness the power of heat and fluids.
- Manufacturing: Pursue a carrier in manufacturing with a concentration that equips with the skills to understand how to make the most efficient system at the lowest cost and the highest benefits.
