Our Infrastructure

SIET is one of the top engineering colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Our campus spreads over 48 acres of land in a beautiful and serene atmosphere ideally suited for technical education. Imagine studying in a lush green campus, outfitted with wi-fi facilities, 24-hours power back up, ample parking space, a tuck shop, medical ambulance on the call, RO water supply, ATM, CCTV monitoring, firefighting equipment's, conference halls, plush accommodations. SIET is reckoned as "UP's first wireless campus" covered with optical fiber on rings. SIET has deployed security guards round the clock at the campus and the hostel.

SIET boasts of modern, state-of-the-art infrastructure. The classrooms, laboratories and workshops provide hands-on training and practical exposure to students besides giving them a platform to self-experiment and cross new boundaries of knowledge. Each department has its own, specialized lab that meets industry standards and is periodically upgraded.

The college is situated at Jhalwa 6 km from Allahabad railway station, Allahabad.The college provides modern teaching facilities and buildings represented through modern architecture, giving the precinct a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere. The infrastructure also includes a state of art air-conditioned computer laboratory with servers and internet facilities; and work stations have welding and smithy equipments that provide hands on experience to our engineering students.

Apart from this, each department has its own discipline based laboratories for study and research. The other facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, extensive libraries, seminar halls for UG and PG, reading hall, outdoor and indoor sports grounds, medical room and dining hall for Staff, Students and visitors. The college offers excellent transport facilities to all the students who commute from different parts of the city. The college mess provides homely, healthy, vegetarian food to all.

Network/ R & D Cell caters to all departments and helps students in developing their projects. Equipped with IBM server, fire wall, Internet leased line of 155 mpbs, network on optical fibre on rings. The cell provides all the IT resources to the college. Online examinations, Network monitoring, Internet supply and other important activities are performed by the cell. Network cell manages web server ,data centers and other IT resources to cater to various web & desktop enabled applications for the college needs like Online examinations, network monitoring, internet supply, college portal.

It owns helpdesk for transparent login and maintenance purpose. We have high end Simence EPBX machine having 100 extn. nos. The cell works under Computer Science & Engineering department. This is an autonomous unit where students work in a live set up under the guidance of an expert team of IT professionals.

The institute has good library and computer facilities and computer labs to further assist students with their studies. One can do their research and assignments in good conditioned laboratories. Every institution of USI has its own Computer Labs and Library. The library of SIET is spread over 10000 sq. ft. of area having more 60,000 books of versatile nature and various subjects. All the libraries are enriched with all modern facilities having e-journal, magazines, books etc. All the institutions of USI have a number of computers installed with the relevant and latest software. SIET itself has more than 1000 computers.

All the institutions of USI have very well equipped Workshops and Lab facilities. Students are encouraged to acquire application skills and verify the knowledge of the class room practically. Various departments and programmes have their independent labs and workshops. CAD/CAM, HPLC labs and various workshops are amongst the best equipped in the country second only to the Government funded IIT’s.

Well equipped laboratories exist for Physics, Chemistry, Applied Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and IC Engines, Material Testing; Advanced Computation etc. are supervised by competent faculty members and efficient instructors. Every institute of USI has all the required labs with the latest technologies.

Hence, all cafeterias have menus that are designed by a team of professional dieticians, comprising nutritious and wholesome food to ensure a well-balanced diet. Fresh fruit juices, milkshakes, ice creams sundaes and snacks are available in this cafeteria for those energy boosts.

For a proper study we should have a healthy body. If you want to protect your brain, you might as well protect the rest of your body as well, right. USI has a Gym which has all the required equipments. The students do exercise under the supervision of an expert coach.

The separate facilities for boys and girls, caring wardens and a tight security ensure a pleasant stay allowing students to focus on their academics. Whilst internet access and STD facilities ensure close contact with family and friends outside, the common rooms are fully equipped with TV, indoor games and other recreation facilities.

All USI campuses are inter-connected through a highly secured USI Network, where over 1,200 PCs are inter-connected to the internet through broadband Connection. All USI campuses have state-of-the-art computer centers that provide computing facilities comprising of the latest HP/IBM/DELL/HCL machines linked to a wide range of software, communication and print services. Most campuses are fully Wi-Fi and students in many programmes are provided with wireless laptops to help them access the world anytime, anywhere.

Every Department has its own Seminar Hall augmented with integrated audio-visual teaching aids for lectures, presentations etc. Every Seminar Hall is centrally air-conditioned to create the right atmosphere for long hours of learning.

These scholarships have been initiated to encourage the talents of meritorious students, thereby strengthening the roots of our future generation. Sitting with friends in a lush green campus keeps our students close to nature and connected. We proudly acclaim SIET as a "fully connected campus". All classrooms, Labs and Libraries are fully connected. SIET is reckoned as "UP's first wireless campus with Fibre-Optics/LAN cable backbone structure".

In this high-tech campus each student is provided with smart card/e-wallet for access to an online student portal. SIET campus is interconnected through a highly secured PSIT's Virtual Private Network, where over 1400 nodes are connected to the internet through HTM (155 mbps) Leased Lines while 10 Hi-End servers power the network.

This Cell operates under the advice and close monitoring of the department of Corporate Relations. The Cultural cell organizes events like Orientation Program for freshers, external lectures, Annual Day and other cultural activities. The Training and Placement activities encourage students to opt for jobs that better suit their profile.

The placement season commences in the first month of every academic year and continues till the end of the academic year. Pre-Placement Talks are conducted for the final year students prior to the commencement of placement session every year. The T&P cell has adequate infrastructure to accommodate all the activities related to training and placement of SIET students.

It has wireless connectivity with company operations rooms, interview rooms, GD rooms, Seminar rooms and student coordination rooms. The T&P cell is assisted by a committee comprising of student representatives from U.G and P.G classes. To cater to the needs of industry and students, separate divisions are created with a single point of contact for each division.

SIET sports area includes Basketball court, Football ground, Badminton court, Gymnasium, Indoor games such as Table-Tennis, Carrom, Pool, etc. A cricket practice pitch with boundary nets, halogens lights etc.

The institute has installed Closed Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) to maintain a record of all that is going on in the campus for protection and monitoring. All the recorded data is periodically used to investigate any untoward incident.

SIET has generators with sufficient capacity to make available 24x7 power back-up. We have a 365KVA power transformer and. All the Labs and Workshops are connected with Online UPS supply.

SIET has deployed security guards round-the-clock at the campus and the hostel. The team comprises of people working with the campus community to provide a reasonably safe environment to all. Security measures includes fire extinguishers, fire safety etc.
