The Department of Electronics and Communication organised a workshop on VISION BOTICS (SIXTH SENSE TECHNOLOGY) under the aegis of i3 India, dated on Mar 4th & 5th, 2017. The workshop aimed at the current scenario/job opportunities of Embedded Industries. Understanding in the skill set required in a new employee in embedded industry. Understanding the robotics future scope and the different microcontrollers available in industry and their use. The workshop was headed by the trainer, Mr. Fazal Mehfooz, assisted by sub trainer, Mr. Rishabh Singh. The first session of Day 1, i.e. Mar 4th, 2017, was meant for creating a base for the students. The team briefed the basics of the topic and also the controller which was meant to be used for the complete session. The session was very interactive as Mr Fazal Mehfooz covered all the topics in the easiest way possible which made the students ebullient for the complete session. By the end of the first session, software was distributed among the students so as to save time for the next session. The second session of the Day 1 was little more interesting as they were taught to burn program on controller using USB Basp. They also learnt some basic programming on LED blinking. By the end of this session, they were given a brief introduction about Motor Driver IC and that how to control motor On Mar 5th, 2017, second day of workshop witnessed the same interest among students with little more enthusiasm for the day ahead. The first session of the day started with the introduction to Serial Communication, and then proceeded to how to control LED using TTL module and Bluetooth. By the end of this session, the team took an online feedback from the students. The second session of the second day comprised of offline feedback, MATLAB installation, and then proceeded to introduction to MATLAB Programming. The team discussed about the video processing and also taught the students how to do it. Further, each team of 5 members worked together on the kit for Ball Follower Robot, as per the guidance of the trainer. The session had a Query section for clearing up the doubts regarding the complete session. The workshop was undoubtedly a success because of the remarkable efforts of EC Dept. fraternity, which included program co-ordinator Assistant Prof. Ajay Dwivedi, and faculty members Prof. Vivek Singh (HOD), Dean Academics, Prof. CB Jha, Assistant Prof. Brijesh Mishra. It was very well coordinated by EC students, Ayush Aggarwal (3rd year), Ravi Mishra (3rd year), Meenakshi Yadav (3rd year) and Shweta Pandey (3rd year).
