Departments of Electronics and Communication of Shambhunath Institute of Engineering and technology (SIET) conducted a seminar on wireless communication system design (WCSD) in association with IETE to enlighten students about the rapidly changing communication technologies standards, and prominent research areas. The Workshop aimed at helping communication technology aspirants to understand the future perspective of the communication system. The various eminent personalities that brought together their ideas and concepts were professors of NITs, Universities, IITs, Scientists from DRDO, Engineer from ONGC, etc. They exchange their ideas and discussed upon issues related with all aspects of communication and focused on researches currently going on in this field. It was a two day national seminar which commenced on 9th of April, 2016. The workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Rajeev Tripathi, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication, MNNIT, Allahabad and guest of honor Dr. Ashish Khare, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication, University of Allahabad along with Dr. K. K. Tiwari, Secretary, Utthan, Mr. R. K. Singh, C.A.O., SIET with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Saraswati Vandana was then recited by Neha Singh and Nidhi Singh of EC 3rd year. Dr. K. K. Tiwari felicitated the chief guests with the bouquet, the Angavastram and the memento. The very first speaker was Dr. Rajeev Tripathi (Professor, MNNIT Allahabad) who discussed about the evolution of communication systems from the time of trunk calls to the present day smart phone era, and explained how electronics forms the backbone of the communication system. He also shared his personal experiences and emphasized on enhancing one’s communication skills for better recruitment opportunities. The next speaker of the day was Dr. K. V. Srivastava (Associate Professor, IIT Kanpur) who briefed the students about the evolution of Microstrip Patch Antenna employed in mobile phones, spacecrafts, medical uses, etc. The final session of the day was presided over by Mr. Gaurish Tripathi, Deputy Director DRDO, Lucknow. He acquainted the students with the basic functioning of CEMILAC, DRDO. The three sessions were chaired by Professor J. P. Mishra, Dean, CRC, Professor C. B. Jha, Dean Academics, Mr. N. C. Agarwal (HOD, Department of Electronics and Communication, SIET Allahabad). The first session of the second day i.e. 10th of April, 2016 of the national seminar on WCSD was presided over by Dr. Neetesh Purohit, HOD, Department of Electronics and Communication, IIIT Allahabad, who centered his discussion on wireless sensor network. He briefly but vividly describes the working and complication of Wireless Sensor Network Technologies. Dr. K. K. Bhutani, Director, UPTEC, Allahabad delivered the second session of the day on the topic Technology Integration. He discussed the wonders of technology by sharing his own experiences, how he saw technology blossom. He also demonstrated how technology has become so affordable for the common man.
