Shambhunath Institute of Law College was established with the object of imparting quality legal education to the students in rural area at affordable cost under the able guidance of Dr. K. K. Tewari, Secretary,Utthan. Our College is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It is affiliated by Allahabad State University.

Shambhunath Institute of law is also listed in All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE, Ref: C-59041-2017) which is under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. The College presently offers Five years B.A., LL.B. course .SIL promotes students diversity from all section of the society. College lays emphasis on clinical legal education by conducting moot courts, mock trials and legal literacy camps in nearby villages. We also provide scholarships and free ships to the meritorious students. In order to develop the advocacy skills among the students the theory papers are blended with practical sessions which will help the students in future in court practice.

Moot Court Society and Legal Aid Clinic is also established by the college. Grievance Cell is also established for prompt redressal of grievances of the students. In order to improve the quality of teaching and learning and other services provided, the college collects feedback from students and parents as well.

Progress of an Institute depends mainly on performance of the students in academics, sports and cultural activities along with maintaining high values and ethics. We Proud to say that our students are doing excellent in academics, sports and cultural activities with high values and ethics. Our college promotes ethical and value based learning to foster the spirit of national development to inculcate cross cultural sensitization.

Message from Principal SIL

At the outset let me Welcome to you all on behalf of Shambhunath Institute of Law College,Jhalwa Allahabad. As you know that the first step only leads to the thousands of steps in our life. I congratulate you for choosing your first step to join in career oriented law course which is an exciting as well as solving many legal problems in the society. Presently the law college is running 5 years B.A., LL.B. course. In fact, teaching of legal education is a blending and mixture of both theory and practice. For achieving this objective and improving the skills of advocacy the college is providing clinical legal education. Apart from this we also encourage our students to participate in Moot court, debate, mock trial and personality development Programs. We feel proud to provide quality education by equipping our students with skills, confidence and a positive approach with an all round development. The college is relentlessly striving to perceive and maintain academic excellence at the same time encourages the students to participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. An amiable environment at SIL nurtures creativity, passion, resilience and leadership qualities among students for development of versatile personality. I sincerely feel that imparting quality based and standard legal education is essential in every law college but it is lacking in most of the law colleges. We share this concern and our motto is to adopt the appropriate and innovative methods of teaching skills for upholding the quality legal education. SIL Moot Court Society & SIL Legal Aid Clinic

SIL Moot Court Society

In compliance to the Bar Council of India, New Delhi, LE (Cir. No 4/1997) dated 21st October, 1997, the revised curriculum for three year and five year law courses for implementation by the Academic Year 1998-1999, which includes instructions regarding- Moot Court, Pre-trial preparations and participation in trial/ Proceedings.

Shambhunath Institute of law has established a state of the art Moot Courtroom in its elaborative infrastructural scenario, which is truly the pride of the institute; Adding to that , the institute has introduced mandatory periods in the regular schedule of the classes so that students may be in regular touch with the activity , also, the institute is looking forward to introduce Court Room Exercise as said above , where weekly assignments related to case study would be given to students and thereafter, it shall be assessed by the panel of faculties which are experienced in the activity.

Since, the institute is still in its developing stage, the management is also encouraging the current students to follow up the national and international moot court competitions by setting up an in house moot court society of students. The society has a vision to conduct intra-college moot court competition annually and select meritorious students out of that to send them to the prestigious moot competitions. The institute by setting up the dedicated facilities has signified its willingness to attain the excellence in the arena of legal education.

The primary goal of the Moot Court Society is to provide all the SIL students the opportunities to harbor research, oral advocacy and legal drafting skills and other essential prowess to mould an individual into an adept mooter. The Committee has also undertaken to educate the coming fresher batch every year regarding the nuances of mooting, conducting at the start of the year a detailed orientation programme and at the end of their first semester, a competition will be conducted as SIL Intra Moot Court Competition.

The Moot Court Society doesn’t just limit itself to Intra-College activities it also indulges itself in various Inter-College competitions. Recently Team of SIL had Participated in National Moot Court Competition organized by Benaras Hindu University and bagged fourth rank all over India by competing with 24 colleges including many national law college as well as central universities. By this competition, our moot court society is setting tradition of excellence in appellate advocacy and their talent will further succeed in many Moot Court Competitions in India.
